Today, important updates on four topics previously appearing at this blog site:

1.  GLOBAL WARMING:  It's now official, last year was the hottest on record.  On Tuesday my post provide simple solutions to initiate the process of remediating global heating.

Here are 15 quotations from U.S. Senator James Inhofe, who is the lead congressional authority on climate change, and most vocal denier.  These quotes will absolutely stun you.

2.  KILLER CHAIRS:  On Wednesday, I reported that couch potatoes are effectively committing suicide, for those who watch TV 4 hours/day have a 46% higher chance of dying than those who only watch 2 hours/day.  To reinforce my expose, the Los Angeles Times just reported on a 12-year European study that just doing anything to burn ONLY 100 CALORIES/DAY will prolong your life.  Lack of activity causes almost twice the number of deaths than obesity.

3.  It was three months ago that I posted on Is This the End of Pahoa?  Well, lava from Kilauea Volcano is again getting close to Pahoa:

Why it's taking so long is that the flow is very slow, perhaps a hundred yards/day, and the outer layer cools off, causing breakouts to occur upstream, which keeps changing the pathway.

4.  Someday soon I will arrive at #1 of Humanity's most important problems, which has to do with death and Heaven.  I might even provide a simple solution.  Anyway, I now and then express puzzlement as to why so many people believe in miracles and actually personally identify with the personal experiences of people who kind of died, went to Heaven, but miraculously returned.   For example, there is the best selling 2010 The Boy who Came Back from Heaven:  A True Story, written by Alex (the 6-year-old boy) and Kevin (father, a Christian therapist) Malarkey, who in 2004 was badly injured in a traffic accident, becoming a quadriplegic.  More than a million copies were sold and there was a TV movie in 2010.  From Amazon:

To quote from Wikipedia:

In the book, Alex says that after the automobile accident, he saw his father fly out the window of his car, only to be caught by an angel and carried to safety. He says he was out of his body while he saw this happen.[9] His body was taken to a hospital in an emergency helicopter. The book says that soon after that he felt an angel take him through the gates of heaven, which he describes as being "tall", to meet Jesus and Satan, who appears though a "hole in heaven".[10] After he woke up in the hospital, he told his family his account of his near-death experience. Tyndale House promoted the book as "a supernatural encounter that will give you new insights on Heaven, angels, and hearing the voice of God."[11][12]

Now, you got to wonder about Heaven is for Real, by Colton Burpo (the four-year-old who returned from Heaven), Todd Burpo (father, who is also a pastor) and Lynn Vincent (who has sold 12 million books).  Then there was the film of the same title, taking in more than $100 million at the box office, with famous actors like Greg Kinnear (as the father) and Thomas Haden Church, but only garnering 46% reviewers' and 67% audience ratings.  However, the book spent 126 consecutive weeks on The New York Times bestseller list, sold more than 10 million copies and was very well liked:
