On Monday, I posted:
I predicted that North Korea would launch its missile on Sunday, April 15, for that is the centennial of their Great Leader, Kim Il-sung, grandfather of the Fizzled Leader, Kim Jong-un. Well I was wrong, for this attempt was made today, and the rocket disintegrated into 20 pieces, falling into the Sea of Japan.
My personal concern was that I leave tomorrow for Japan, with a scheduled landing in the early afternoon of April 15. While the odds of my plane intersecting the North Korean trajectory was infinitesimal, it was something to worry about. Now, my only concern is waking up in time to make the flight.
For their audacity, scratch the food aid deal with the USA, which while it came with the caveat that NK would not proceed with nuclear testing, this errant space shot was lopped on to the original agreement. Now that there is no food forthcoming anyway, nothing to lose by exploding their bomb. In many ways, they now must do something macho, for there is too much egg on the face of their Jejune Leader. If they blunder this attempt, they can always say it was done on purpose to gain access to international aid. Maybe, as seen above, there is no food shortage.
Have you noticed that there is lot of clapping in North Korea? They do it in unison with intense emotion.
The Blue Revolution Hawaii Board met today on my roof:
We, of course ate well, with a dozen different kinds of sushi and assorted other pupus, plus a fine assortment of wines. Another great day in paradise with the following sunset:

WHY CAN'T NORTH KOREA HAVE ITS OWN SATELLITE?
