People here say their Sakura is around 90% bloomed. I give it an 80% rating, with a warning that this weekend will be very busy here. First, the Marriott Asocia Hotel above Nagoya Station is outstanding, including breakfast. There are stations for eggs, Nagoya special dishes and noodles:
Fruits, where you can make your own fresh orange juice;
Off to Tsuruma Okoen Mai:
I was greeted by my Blue-Bar Pigeon:
Who walked me around the food court:
Here, a typical hanami, with beer and sake at 10:30 in the morning:
Then on to Nagoya Castke:
My lunch was Hida wagyu beef from Gifu:
Then more cherry blossom] on the way out:
The Concierge Lounge was just right for us:
Tomorrow, we use the Bullet Train to Tokyo to stay at the New Sanno Hotel, which I haven't seen for two decades.
