Summary: a relatively good day for Humanity.
I've recently been writing about personal and World Peace. The former, of course, necessary to attain the latter. Peace on Earth, Good Will to Men.
Borrowing from Nivine Richie:
If you believe, sure, there will be Peace in Heaven. But you need to die to maybe attain this level of comfort.
Ralph Levy believes that religion, also known as God's Way of Love, will be the path to World Peace. To quote him:
To learn more about the coming Kingdom of God, which will usher in the peace humanity has longed for, see the articles in the section “The Kingdom of God.”
So you click on that, leading you to an infinite number of different directions.
What about Peace on Earth? The best I can determine from the prose of David C. Pack is that We will never ever be able to bring our society to any kind of World Peace. There is that Second Coming of Jesus, and he is said to be the person who will insure for this ultimate state of harmony. All the religious indicators say soon, which is so imprecise that it could well be never.
Again from John:
Borrowing from Nivine Richie:
People everywhere search for peace. They sing songs about it and travel on pilgrimages to find it. They even wage war to protect it. Many wealthy, famous, and powerful people would trade everything for just one moment of peace. What they often find, however, is the world’s false peace which is different from the peace offered by Jesus:
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. (John 14:27)
The peace offered by the world is an empty promise and can only bring temporary comfort. God’s peace is a permanent peace offered by the only One who can be trusted to keep his Word and heal our sin.
The above is representative of much available in the popular literature and Bible. What is the reality, and when?If you believe, sure, there will be Peace in Heaven. But you need to die to maybe attain this level of comfort.

Again from John:
I'm now into 2006, so what happened that year?
- Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy.
- Iran enriches uranium for the first time.
- The U.S. Armed Forces withdraws from Iceland, which has no standing army. It has, however, a small coast guard with radar and small arms. Iceland has never participated in a full-scale war nor invasion and the constitution of Iceland has no mechanism to declare war. Well, actually, there have been three Cod Wars.
- Pluto demoted to dwarf planet. To the right, first photo taken.
- North Korea conducts first ever nuclear test.
- South Korean Ban Ki-moon elected as Secretary-General, replacing Kofi Annan of Ghana.
- USA reaches a population of 300 million. Today, 328 million.
- Saddam Hussein executed by hanging.
- Jackson Pollock painting, No. 5, 1948, becomes the most expensive painting sold: $140 million. In 2017, Leonardo da Vinci's Salvator Munda (below) sold for $450 million, so is now the most expensive.
The top 25 hits of 2006, in less than 2 minutes. Very noisy. The only song I recognized was You're Beautiful.
