The list of countries and territories and their continental regional classification is based on the United Nations Geoscheme. Summary:
  • The World new death rate has now dropped for three straight days.
  • Spain and Germany also had declines.
  • The USA and Italy showed increases.
  • For the fourth day in a row, Japan did not report.  Nippon.com shows lower numbers than Worldometer.  Tokyo is the New York of Japan with 1/3 the number of cases:

The latest Twitter flap has to do with President Trump's re-twit, following up on an arranged reaction by conservative Republican DeAnna Lauraine Tesorerio (that's her to the right), who just happens to be running against Nancy Pelosi in the November:
Surely, Trump is not dumb enough to fire Dr. Tony Fauci.  Here is more:

The Fauci tweet came after Trump spent Easter blaming Congress, the states, and the Obama administration for his administration’s slow coronavirus response. It also came amid a wave of reporting describing a litany of overlooked signs, ignored warnings, and missed opportunities by Trump and his administration in the early days of the virus.
Among that reporting was a new detail: Fauci and other public-health officials in the administration wanted President Trump to encourage social distancing as early as February. It would take three weeks, during which the U.S. went from 15 confirmed coronavirus cases to 4,226, for Trump to urge social distancing. Tapper asked why it took Trump so long to take Fauci’s advice.
“We look at it from a pure health standpoint,” Fauci explained. “We make a recommendation. Often, the recommendation is taken. Sometimes it’s not. But we — it is what it is. We are where we are right now.”
This could well have been the last straw.  Bachi is the Japanese term for retribution, facing the music, punishment for lying and so forth.  Considering the damage he has done, and observing the grateful reaction of  Boris Johnson to recovering from COVID-19, wouldn't it be convenient and appropriate for Donald Trump to catch this novel coronavirus infection?

After all, can you imagine a better way for an adversarial alien civilization or Russia to cripple the USA?  If anyone else had been President of the USA, there would have been fewer deaths.  Instead, we have the most in the World and surging beyond those European hotspots.  As terrible as this has been, Donald Trump's current only thought is to quickly jumpstart our economy.  What is the best way to stop him?

I advised him to nobly announce not running for re-election in November so he can truly put together a bipartisan coalition to combat this pandemic.  Of course, he did not listen to me, but no leader does anyway.

My first Huffington Post article a dozen years ago asked candidate Barack Obama, if he became President, to promulgate a 10% World Peace Plan.  He did not even consider it...for fear of the Military Industrial Complex.  Readers of U.S. News and World Report, however, liked it.  But he is forgiven, for he did win the Nobel Peace Prize.

After a while, I gave up on Obama and advised then Chinese President Hu Jintao, who also ignored me.  So, I wrote a second China article for The Huffington Post, this time to new President Xi Jinping, and he certainly shows no signs of appreciating the wisdom of this 10% solution.

This time I'm not advising anyone of anything.  I'm merely conjecturizing, fantasizing about a possible optimal pathway for the nation to rid itself of COVID-19.  What if President Donald Trump became a coronavirus patient?  Would our country better be able to enhance our current Federal solution strategy?

Today, we have a dog and pony show coming out of the White House with no clear message, statements full of holes, lies,  cover up, deceit, LACK OF LEADERSHIP, with the only underlying mission being how to get re-elected.  Who can believe anyone who stands at the podium to say he has a big decision to make and when questioned on how he got to his Matrix for the country’s plan for economic recovery,  points to his head to say “It’s all in here”.

The USA has nearly five times the death rate of the World average.  We are doing something terribly wrong.  Say Trump immediately gets placed on a ventilator, and remains incommunicado for three weeks.  He will be 74 in June, but the mortality rate even at that age is less than 10%.   The odds are high that the following actions would suddenly gain priority and momentum, things that would have been impossible with him at the top:
  • Science would overrule the economy.
  • There would be Federal leadership about testing:
    • Eventually test every citizen, certainly two or three times for those so infected.
    • Accelerate a national program for antibody testing.
    • Any child who returns to school must be tested to be safe first.
    • Same for anyone who returns to work.
  • Social distancing will be mandatory until the end of the year.  That is, those who go out must wear a mask and remain separated from others.  Even those at work.  Any company that has even one new case will immediately be shut down, with employees and administrators placed in 14-day quarantine at home.
  • Same for schools.
  • Greetings will change from hand-shake/kiss to a nod at distance, somewhat similar to bowing in Japan.
  • Sports activities will be allowed with no spectators at first.  Of course, all participants will first need to test negative for the coronavirus.  The media availability will be expanded to allow maximum viewership, perhaps at a cost.  Spectators will be allowed over time as they test negative for COVID-19, but must show proof.
  • Difficult because Republicans know that online and/or mail-in voting will be their undoing, but somehow allow for options in case social distancing is still being practiced on November 3.  Many states are already allowing mail-in, and electronic voting is soon to follow.  When the House, Senate and White House become Democratic, pass something sensible for pandemics and crises.  Barack Obama has a good point:
“We’re the only advanced democracy in the world that makes it harder for people to vote,” he said, adding, “how do we redesign our systems so that we don’t have 50 percent or 55 percent voter participation on presidential elections, and during off-year congressional elections, you’ve got 39 or 40 percent voting.”
  • Next year, transition to a new-normal, whatever that might be.
Toxic leadership now afflicts the nation.  A sensible bipartisan (hey, this is a war) and scientifically advised national leadership can only enhance our efforts to overcome this pandemic.

Since most of you have nothing better to do, this was sent to me.  There are no gimmicks.  There is a number zero below.  My best guess is that after one minute you won't find it.  Go back.  Then go back again.  You will need to re-calibrate your IQ if you miss more than three times.
