We spent 36 days on the Norwegian Encore:
- Launched in November of 2019, but suspended less than a year later because of the pandemic.
- Cost: $1 billion.
- Maximum speed of 25 knots.
- 4000 passengers and 2100 crew.
- Godmother: Kelly Clarkson.
First stop, San Francisco:
Next stops were Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta and Manzanillo. Very hot outside. View from our veranda docked in Puerto Vallarta. Remember the TV series
Love Boat? Came here now and then.
The movie,
10, was partly filmed in Manzanillo. Next, Acapulco. View from our lanai. Kind of looks like Waikiki from a distance.
From Mexico to Guatemala. On the Encore is The Cavern Club, a smaller entertainment room which looks like where The Beatles began in Liverpool. We saw them in the main theater and here a few times.
This room is also where karaoke sessions were nightly held.
The Social Club served as our disco room.
Guatemala to Costa Rica. Didn't get off the ship in these countries, but could have seen these colorful lifeforms.
We had noodles for lunch daily. The type changed, plus I made my own additions to the bowl.
Usually with beer and wine.
Our nightlife usually included karaoke, disco and a midnight snack.
On Day 16, the Panama Canal Transit, beginning with Panama City, ending the next day in Cartegena, Columbia.
Into Cartagena.
We departed Cartegena to a lightning show. Went on for an hour.
This was also Halloween, and here I am dressed in my outfit...not on the Encore, but one year earlier on the Diamond Princess.
A costume contest, then karaoke and a midnight snack.
On the next stop, George Town in the Cayman Islands, we went on a tour. First, tender to port.
This was hell.
Tasted Tortuga Rum cake and rum.
On to a turtle hatchery.
One of our dining highlights was at Teppanyaki.

Next stop, Miami, then to Southampton. I'll leave the second phase of our Norwegian Encore cruise for tomorrow.
