THIS FINAL PANDEMIC WAVE IS AT A PEAK AND IS SOON TO DECLINE

Yesterday I thought the potential of this Ukrainanian war was diminishing.  This morning, it appears that things are actually getting worse.  Here is one point of view provided by former Hawaii Democratic Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, who indicates that President Biden wants another Cold War with Russia.  Well, maybe not him personally, but because the Military-Industrial Complex controls him, and they need another source of income now that the Middle East war is over.

Summary:

• Much of the world seems to think this pandemic is over, as both the USA and Europe are relaxing controls so as to stimulate the economy and send students back to school.
• Part of this optimism is that the new cases/day rate is dropping.
• The other reason is that the majority is now vaccinated, and those who catch the Omicron variant will now only rarely get very sick. 
• Way back in November of last year, unvaccinated people were 14 times more likely to die from this virus.  Today, this factor must be much higher.
• German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced his country will remove restrictions in a step-by-step process.  However, yesterday, Germany had the most new cases in the world, 234,886, a lot more than #2 Russia with 179,284 and #3  Brazil at 147,252.  The USA was #4 with 115,149.
• After largely sitting out this pandemic, several countries in the Orient are beginning to be affected by the Omicron variant (in parentheses:  new cases/million population):
• South Korea had 90,430 new cases, but only 39 new deaths.  (1763)
• Japan:  79,896 / 207  (634)
• Hong Kong:  4285 / 3 (539)
• Singapore:  16,883 / 13  (2862)
• Iceland (7968)

• A few island communities are doing terribly
• Much of Europe is still in some jeopardy.  But they are opening up because, on a relative basis, few are actually dying today from COVID-19,
• Parts of the Orient are worsening, but remain way below the status of Europe today.
• The USA is doing well, and can soon consider the country out of epidemic status.  
• The nearly 3000 deaths experienced yesterday should soon begin to precipitously drop, and should be into three digits within two weeks.  
• Anyone who is fully vaccinated and boosted is safer contracting COVID-19 than the seasonal flu.  They are almost totally out of danger.  
• There remain those with pre-conditions who should remain careful.
• Those unvaccinated continue to be in danger.  Worry, too, about protracted symptoms or infecting others.

Countries and cities treat COVID-19 patients differently.  In Tokyo, you are sent a week's worth of instant meals, as you can see to the right.  They also call you every morning to check on your vitals and remind you to remain isolated.  You can request a pulse oximeter, for example, which is immediately delivered to your door.  Some are offered a hotel room to quarantine, for free.  Countries like New Zealand, Germany and Thailand also send care packages.  Here is video of the one from Tokyo.
