MY LETTERS TO WORLD LEADERS

Last night President Joe Biden did nothing I suggested, but he did indicate that a vaccine will be available to all Americans by May 1.  How are we doing compared to the rest of the World?  We are #8 in doses/person:

• Israel  1.03
• Seychelles  0.9
• UAE  0.67
• UK  0.37
• Maldives  0.36
• Bahrain  0.33
• Chile  0.33
• U.S.  0.30

The world average is 0.044 with 3.35 million shots.  The U.S. is just about now up to 100 million, with 10% of the population fully vaccinated.  Israel is at 46%.

How close are we to herd immunity?  Assuming those 100 million will soon reach immunity, add the 30 million who have already been infected, plus another 30 million for the asymptomatic cases (this percentage is supposedly 40% by both the CDC and Dr. Fauci, but I think it is closer to 70%--I used 50% for this analysis), or 160 million.  Our population is 328 million, so we are just nearing 50%.  

According to the Mayo Clinic, we need to attain 94%.  However, Johns Hopkins says 50% to 90%, so maybe we're already there.  Dr. Anthony Fauci began his guesses at 60-70% during the Trump era.  Then earlier this month he jumped to 80-85%.  Now, he says 70%-90%, but he hesitates at that high level so as not to discourage Americans.

Oh, if you're into the music of today: The Grammys are on Sunday: Trevor Noah will host, almost two dozen stars will perform, and the Weeknd is boycotting the awards. About my letter to President Joe Biden, I have a sad history of sending recommendations to World leaders.  My very first Huffington Post article on 29May2008 was entitled:  Well Barack, We have a Problem...  He was still running against Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination.  Here is my train of thought:

  I predicted he would become POTUS #44 and that he had to orchestrate a Manhattan/Apollo effort to counteract global warming.
• Keeping in mind that more than $6 trillion has been spent on our Middle East Wars since 2001, and a sum in that range was necessary to take on this task, I suggested that with World Peace, he could siphon off war funds to save Planet Earth from the Greenhouse Effect.
• How?  To quote:

So where do you find this kind of money? Ah, the Defense budget. You go to your very first G8 Nations Summit, by your declared emergency to be held at United Nations headquarters in New York City, and pronounce a Gorbachev-like bombshell: our country will reduce military spending by 10% this year, and will continue to do so for the next eight years. This scenario is described on page 65 of my Book 2. You say, we want every country to do the same, for this 10% solution is our best response to Peak Oil and Global Warming. At this stage, keep quiet about the “ending wars forever” part, as then, no one will take you too seriously.

  Further:

The so-called military-industrial complex will shift their effort to mass-producing more efficient wind energy conversion systems, developing the hydrogen jetliner, in time converting the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to methanol and otherwise insuring for the development of the sustainable infrastructure and necessary clean energy. Military personnel can initially be maintained to handle the few thousand terrorists, take on environmental tasks and the like. By 2020 there should be one U.S. security force not more than 5% our current size.

  Finally:

There is every reason to believe that your 10% solution can continue forever to the point where there will be close to no military expenditures and, therefore, no chance for a major world war. Countries like Costa Rica, Iceland, Mauritius and Panama already have no defense budget. Are they threatened? Nope! Japan and China have had a chance to expand their economy because of a limited war account. The U.S spends almost $2000/person for defense while that of China is $45/citizen.

  I closed with:

Ah, what a great country. Where else can a former public McKinley High School student provide advice to a Punahou graduate?

So what did he do?  Nothing.  However, three years later I sent a message to China's President:

A Message to President Hu Jintao:  Three Steps for China to Attain Superpower Status

I essentially recommended the same 10% World Peace Plan for him to win the Nobel Prize.  Nothing.

But he had no time, for it was soon announced that Xi Jinping would become the next president of China.  Thus came:

My Second Message to China

To quote:

Now, for the big one, surely to gain a Nobel Prize of your own. You have a couple of years to analyze the sanity and brilliance of the 10% solution. By 2013 the G8 nations should be augmenting this powerful world body to at least ten, and maybe a dozen. China will be invited to join. After your opening remarks at your inaugural presence, you can consider stating:

“Nearly two scores ago, the Group of Seven was originally created to lead the way towards world peace. Humanity today is faced with peak oil, global warming, a metastable economy and a range of wars that, if not immediately and effectively addressed by our Group, will result in a mega depression, compounded by environmental despair and armed warfare that will get out of control. I hereby today would like to announce that China will reduce our defense budget by 10% next year, and continue to do so annually into the foreseeable future. The funds saved will be placed in an international fund to be managed by this Group of 12, but only if every country joins China in advancing the cause of Peace and Prosperity.”

I closed with:

That’s it! Our society is headed down a dangerous path to potential doom, and you, Xi Jinping, could decisively engineer a crucial mid-course correction for the benefit of mankind. As Mikhail Gorbachev did to spark the end of the Cold War, you can set the tone for true world peace, forever.

The Dow Jones again broke it's all-time high, jumping 297 points to 32,782.  Novovax rose 6% after showing 96.4% overall effectiveness, 86.3% against the UK variant and 55.4% against the South African virus.
