Summary:
- A good day for Humanity, as only South Korea experienced an uptick...from 1 to 2 new deaths.
- Clearly, both Europe and the USA have plateaued and are on the downside, which looks promising.
- China is trying to sort out its reality, which is looking more and more embarrassing for the leadership, same for Japan.
- India had only two new deaths. Incredible if true.
- Indonesia had 15 new deaths at a deaths/million people rate of only 2, same as Japan and Singapore, with the World at 20 and USA at 116. I don't quite want to say preposterous, but certainly wonderful, if authentic.
- Africa remains largely untouched. Hope that is not a ticking bomb I hear.
Enough of that for this Saturday. What is happening around the world?
- Well, Israel still is trying to figure out who will run the country. Maybe an agreement tonight between Netanyahu and Gantz?
- You would think they could have been smarter about purposefully starting traditional burnings so close to the worst nuclear cataclysm ever, if you don't count Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but that forest fire near the Chernobyl sarcophagus has now been ongoing for eleven days, increasing radioactivity in the region. Well, the official government report is no radioactivity. But that is false news.
In other words, nothing much else is happening on Planet Earth. People also send me things like remarkable geographical fascinations:
- Half the coastline of the entire USA is in Alaska.
- The volume of water emitted by the Amazon River into the Atlantic Ocean is greater than the next eight largest rivers in the world.
- No one owns Antarctica, which has 90% of the world's ice, which represents 70% of all our freshwater. There, Dry Valleys has seen no precipitation for 2 million years.
- Canada has 31,752 lakes, more than the world combined, including four of the Great Lakes.
- Minnesota only has 11,842 lakes.
- All lakes in Ohio are man-made.
There are more Irish in New York City
than in Dublin, Ireland;
more Italians in New York City
than in Rome, Italy;
and more Jews in New York City
than in Tel Aviv, Israel .

The deepest hole ever drilled at that time was the Kola Superdeep Borehole in Russia in 1992. It reached a depth of 40,226 feet or 7.62 miles. It was drilled for scientific research and gave up some unexpected discoveries, one of which was a huge deposit of hydrogen -- so massive that the mud coming from the hole was boiling in it. Hmmmm...something to consider for the Hydrogen Economy.
There is now an Exxon well 40,604 feet deep, offshore of Sakhalin Island (
Russia).
Got to add a Donald trump joke:
Donald Trump was touring the countryside in his chauffeur-driven limo.
Suddenly, a donkey jumps out onto the road, and they hit it full on and the car comes to a stop.
Trump said to the chauffeur: 'You get out and check, you were driving.'
The chauffeur gets out, checks and reports that the animal is dead.
'You were driving; go and tell the farmer,' said Trump.
Hours later, the chauffeur returns totally plastered, hair ruffled with a big grin on his face.
'My god, what happened to you?' asks Trump.

'When I got there, the farmer opened his best bottle of whiskey, the wife gave me a slap-up meal and the daughter took me upstairs and made love to me.'
'What on earth did you say to them?' asks Trump.
I knocked on the door, and when it was answered, I said to them, I'm Donald Trump's chauffeur and I've just killed the jackass.
