Not having my computer with me has forced me to think about what I want to do for the rest of my life, and, in particular, with this blog site. Clearly, as has been the case for nearly a dozen years, I don't want to continue this burden of posting a daily blog. There are days when I'm too busy or lazy or whatever. I deserve this freedom.
So, here in Chiang Mai, I've come to this fork in my future, which, I just determined, will lead me into perhaps five directions, maybe more:
- First, I'll continue this blog, pretty much daily until April 28, which will complete a 12-year period. Then, I'll only post if anything particularly newsworthy or interesting appears. There will be my fantasy around world journey beginning in October, and more.
- I will create several other blog sites (I'll now and then show these locations so you can investigate them if any particular one suits your taste). I will over time introduce four virtual books I'll be generating. Chapters, or portions of chapters, will be appearing to elicit your comments. This will be a series of works in progress to keep enhancing the final products. One will be a novel, a second a docu-novel and third or fourth...I don't know. They will all be enhanced with photos I'll take, or computer artwork I'll need to learn. At the end of each book, that blog site will be there forever as a complete and free book. Here are four topics I'll introduce, beginning with one that, actually, is already well-along in Planet Earth and Humanity, this blog site:
- Pearl's Ashes: You can go to my posting of 28 December 2016, which provides the Introduction. Here is the first part:
- For years now I have been hinting that I would begin serializing my next book. I have several in various stages of production, and chose to unveil PEARL’S ASHES as my first virtual book, mainly because there are so many photos, and it would have cost a lot more than $100/copy if released in the traditional manner. Unless anything monumental occurs compelling me to postpone a chapter, I will every Wednesday for the next couple of months feature my special gift to you.
- Perhaps, beginning in May I'll actually post a new chapter every Wednesday to provide some continuity.
- The Venus Syndrome: If you clicked on that link, this was a Huffington Post article I wrote 12 years ago, less than a month after this blog began. TVS will be a docu-novel in the spirit of what you read if you clicked on that site.
- Five Hours to Los Angeles: This potential novel began with Los Angeles being the intended city of total devastation, but became Six Hours to Seattle, a chapter in my SIMPLE SOLUTIONS for Planet Earth. However, I subsequently visited that city and came to a conclusion that the natural marine conditions were not ideal for a mega-tsunami destroying it. I then went on to Anchorage and found out that it is built a little too high above sea level.
Thus, I went back the the original city I first envisioned, Los Angeles, even though the continental Shelf might be a hindrance. This will be a novel over a period of five hours when the city of Hilo, plus Puna region, falls into the ocean, creating a mega-tsunami, where the United flight to Los Angeles just takes off in time. A tsunami travels at the same speed as many commercial planes. The follow-up film will dramatically show what happens to the northeast side of the Big Island, then, towards the end, the inundation of Southern California. The movie will end with the flight heading for Las Vegas.- The Blue Revolution: This will not be the title, I'll need to come up with something more catchy. But it will be about the Blue Revolution, and what it will take to get to the stage of the $150 billion first ocean city, hosting the 2050 World's Fair.
Tomorrow, my posting from Chiang Mai will be titled: Tigers, Butterflies, a Giant Centipede and Orchids.
