COULD THE WUHAN CORONAVIRUS BE A SIGN OF DOOMSDAY?

The death toll from the Wuhan Coronavirus is now past 300, with 14,300 confirmed cases.  A Wuhan man visiting the Philippines perished with this disease.  He is the first to die outside of China.

Wuhan is a city of 11 million in Hubei Province.  Five million residents left the city for the annual Lunar New Year holiday before the lockdown.  Four thousand Wuhan tourists are still overseas, but the  government has begun special flights to bring them home.  They are now feared wherever they went, and most can't return home.  Hotels won't take them in.  Those that are somehow housed are being searched and being spied upon.  They are stranded in their own country.

But in addition to Wuhan, 16 other cities are in lockdown affecting 50 million citizens.  They feel like guinea pigs in a medical experiment facility.

Want to be creative about Wuhan coronavirus prevention masks?

As I am still scheduled to fly to Thailand in 10 days, here is a graphic from the Bangkok Post:

The Bible, particularly the Old Testament, described numerous occasions of God bringing plagues and diseases...to make you see My power (Exodus 9:14,16).  You ask, how can a loving and merciful Supreme Force display such wrath and anger?  Well, His goal supposedly was repentance and restoration.  In the New Testament, Jesus healed sickness and diseases to show that he was the Son of God (Matthew 9:35; 10:1; Mark 3:10).

Could it be that this particular Wuhan Coronavirus Pandemic is a first sign of the end of time?  Is this the Big Crunch?  The Big Crunch, however, is 30 billion years or so long, with 16 billion or so years to go.  Does this sign occur so early in the cycle?

Muslims also have that Day of Judgement:

Thereupon he [Muhammad] said: “It will not come until you see ten signs before and (in this connection) he made mention of the smoke, Dajjal [Anti-Christ], the beast, the rising of the sun from the west, the descent of Jesus son of Mary (Allah be pleased with him), the Gog and Magog, and land-slidings in three places, one in the east, one in the west and one in Arabia at the end of which fire would burn forth from the Yemen, and would drive people to the place of their assembly. (Vol. 4:6931)

Hinduism is sometimes scarily accurate with respect to time.  Their world is cyclic, consisting of kalpas, lasting from 4.1 to 8.2 billion years.

Coincidentally, according to the best science, our Sun will engulf Earth in 7.5 billion years.   But not to worry, for the Hindu religion runs in cycles and is supposedly good for at least 311 trillion plus 40 billion years.

So returning to the The Bible, the combination of time being a variable and God having the power to do what He wants at any time, this blip in human casualties can't possibly mean much.  All things considered, it seems best to eliminate the Wuhan Coronavirus as any indicator of anything, and certainly not Doomsday.

In closing, should you not be into golf, to put you in the mood for the Super Bowl at 6:30PM EST or 1:30PM in Hawaii, you might want to consider Puppy Bowl XVI on your Animal Planet channel at 3PM EST or 10AM in Hawaii (channel 329 or 1329 Spectrum).  According to CNN:
  • Featured this year will be 96 precious puppies from 61 animal shelters and rescue organizations.  Some have special needs.  Read the article for details.
  • It's cute fun, but the purpose is to encourage adoptions.
  • Dan Schachner will return as "rufferee."  Jill Rappaport will introduce the "Pud Close and Personal" segments, all with heartwarming stories.  Surge the Hamster (a real one) will return as scoreskeeper.  He is also up for adoption.
  • The halftime show will feature cat divas Jenni-Purr Lopez and Cat-ira.  Yes, they too can be adopted.
  • How do you adopt anyone?  Go to AnimalPlanet.com, and find the shelter or rescue site where each lives.
