I MADE IT TO LAX...Next, Paris

If you've traveled at all, you no doubt landed or left from Los Angeles International Airport, or LAX.  The ordeal was as expected.  We had to wait in Honolulu until Hawaiian Airlines announced that the doors were closing...when we were assigned our seats.

However, the flight was a totally unexpected enjoyment, for we were  placed in the Extra Comfort seats and the meal of egg/tomato/mozzarella sandwich was good, with a Bloody Mary.  Ended with a cookie and chocolate macadamia nut.  All free.  Well, I did apply my own drink enhancement.  The Hawaiian Air audio system was excellent, with excellent service.

The Marriott LAX is conveniently located with easy access through their shuttle.  This hotel has been here since I've been traveling, except that they just had a total make-over, and it looks great.  The M Club, however, charges a lot for drinks.  $11 for wine and scotch, and $7 for beer.  We started with Hibiki on rocks.  At least the food was free.

Interestingly enough, the same plane which took us here, we saw leaving back for Honolulu.  This is the exact flight we will have on February 25 to Honolulu.  This photo was taken from our table in the M. Club.

The meal was a buffet of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine:

After at least eight hours of sleep, my breakfast in the M Club:

We later today fly to Paris on Air France beginning in the Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT, also known as Terminal B):

There are nine terminals with 128 gates.  LAX Train should be ready by 2023, in two-minute intervals, connecting the terminals, rental car facilities, etc.

We plan to have lunch at the airport.  The Daniel K. Inouye International Airport could well be the worst in the USA, considering its potential, and American airports occupy the bottom of the world list.  In the latest Skytrax survey, not one from the U.S. is in the top 25.

Most airports have the finest in cuisine scattered throughout.  TBIT, for example, has Petrossian (caviar and champagne), Umami Burger, Lucky Fish (by Sushi Roku), Vino Volo (wine and Italian dishes), Chaya (Euro-Asian fare), and a dozen more.

There are more than a dozen Airbus 380 departures from LAX, the most in the world.  The Air France flight we are on is one of them.  Depending on seating, this plane holds from 525 to 853 passengers.

The time difference between Honolulu and Paris is 11 hours.  This LAX stopover will help.  On the 25th we will leave Paris at 8:30AM, and, after a few hour stopover in LAX, arrive in Hawaii around 9 PM.
