This was my most international tailgate weekend ever, featuring not only football and volleyball, but also golf and photography. Photography? I'll later explain.
My neighbor John joined me for an Italian tailgate of mushroom pasta with an assortment of edibles. As most of these gathering focus on protein, ours was excruciatingly healthy, featuring a wide variety of vegetables. We thank a friend who prepared the meal.
The wine was a 2014 Stanford Collector's Reserve Lyndenhurst Spottswoode Cabernet Sauvignon. Note also the bottles of Lagavulin and Hibiki.
Next, Yummy's cuisine from Korea. Note that it placed first this year in its class. In addition to a wide assortment of vegetables, that is a seaweed soup.
That green bottle is the most popular unknown liquor in the world. Jinro Chamisul Soju is 19% alcohol, and in South Korean convenience stores sell for $1. Most important of all for me, they have found a way to eliminate a generally bad taste that in the past tarnished the drink. That miniature bottle of Hibiki was for the soup.
I watched Rory McIlroy beat Xander Schauffele in a World Golf Championship tournament in Shanghai.
The next was a sensational egg sandwich. Not only chicken egg, but also from salmon, with a slice of onion and potato chips. The wine was a Stanford Classic Kunde Family Merlot and beer Mickey's.
I've never had a Mexican tailgate, until this weekend. Tacos, Margherita and beer:
Yesterday, lunch was a 15 Craigside Photo Club party to honor our mentor from the Honolulu Museum of Art, Scott Kubo:

The lunch was a Japanese bento from Natsunoya and the drinks featured Mickey's beer and a very expensive bottle of sake. Why was this a tailgate? Well, it wasn't, but I had to toss it in.
