Summary:  Lookin better.

On June 28 I shared with you the best of Netflix.  My intention this time was to provide the best of Amazon Prime.  Instead, I'll upgrade the analysis and point out the 100% Rotten Tomatoes offerings of both so you can seriously consider turning to this list before just pointlessly searching for something.

There are 120 100% Rotten Tomatoes programs available on Amazon Prime, although not all are free. These are by seasons, so the number of actual different films/documentaries/series is actually much smaller.

So to return to the 100% Amazon Prime programs, here are the best by seasons:
  • Modern Family Season 6 only at 100%
    • There were eleven seasons, with an average total score of 85% by reviewers and 87% by the audience.
    • Apparently, seasons 1-3 are not available.
  • The Sopranos Season 1 and 3: 92%/98% for the total series over six seasons.
  • 24:  There were 8 days plus one, or 9 total years of this series, with Day 5 gaining a 100% rating.
  •  Arrested Development Season 1.
  • Babylon Berlin Season One
  • Breaking Bad Seasons 3 and 4, five seasons with an overall average of 96%/98%.
  • Catastrophe Seasons 1, 2 and 3
  • Downton Abbey Season 2
  • Fargo Season 2
  • Fleabag Seasons 1 and 2
  • Friday Night Lights Seasons 4 and 5
  • Homeland Season
  •  Jane the Virgin Seasons 1, 4 and 5
  • Justified Seasons 2, 4 and 6
  • Mad Men Season 2.
  • Mystery Science Theater 3000 Season 1
  • One Day at a Time Seasons 2, 3 and 4
  • Parts and Recreation Special in 2020
  • Veep Seasons 3 and 4
  • Last Tango in Halifax
    • Wonderful program which I'm now watching in season 1, and awaiting getting into 2 and 3.
    • Season 1 94%, S 2 100%, S3 100%, S4 and 5, plus Holiday Special still not rated.
    • While this program is British, the captioning works well.
    • This is meaningful for me because the story is of two people in their later 70's who re-found each other after a lifetime of going through life thinking that the other person did not particularly care for them, but finding out it was just the opposite.  In a different way, I seem to now be in this situation.  A cute comedy of two aged lovers surrounded by friends and family of mostly dysfuntional individuals.  One of the first things they do to celebrate their re-discovery is buy a Lexus sports car, and get lost, worrying everyone.
This does not mean the other seasons are not worth watching.  Getting a 100% score by reviewers on Rotten Tomatoes is extraordinary.

Everything is FREE on Netflix, and they have a lot more 100% scores than Amazon Prime.  In no particular order:
  • Ugly Delicious 2S  100/100  8E  Chef David Chang and foods around the world--pretty good.
  • Kantaro 1S  100/?  11E  Sweet tooth salaryman in Japan.

  • Fauda:  S1, S2 and S3 all 100--I'm now watching this series, and even though I tend to gravitate  away from Middle East terrorist-type action programs, this one in Israel is particularly well-made and absorbing.  Deserves the 100 rating.

Here are 44 films to open in August through October.  There are several 100% movies.

One which will open this week, Jazz on a Summer Dayfilmed at the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival featuring Louis Armstrong, Thelonius Monk, Gerry Mulligan, Chuck Berry, Dinah Washington and Mahalia Jackson.

Another is, An Easy Girl, already streaming on Netflix, about a teen girl drawn to her cousin's hedonistic lifestyle in Cannes.

Did you watch the PGA Golf Championship yesterday from San Francisco?  With only a few holes to go, seven players were tied at the top.  Collin Morikawa luckily chipped in a shot from outside the green on the 14th.  Then he hit the shot of the year, a par-4 drive 7 feet from the cup on the 16th hole, and got an eagle, winning by two strokes, earning $1.98 million and exemptions for the foreseeable future. Watch this 2 min 39 sec highlight clip.  He is a 23-year old Southern Californian who last year graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in business.  He has a bright future.

On the women's side, Danielle Kang won for the second straight week in Ohio.  Her winnings yesterday?  $255.00.  No women's rights in golf.  Her life has been sort of the opposite of Collin, for she was born in San Francisco and played at Pepperdine.

Where's Michelle Wie?  She got married to Jerry West's son, just had a baby, and is now a golf announcer.  Michelle is the taller golfer.

As I soon head to Ewa Villages for a round of golf with McKinley High School classmates, here is something involving Tiger Woods:

Don't Forget to Dream.  For me, real dreams never come true, and thankfully.  However, several day dreams inspired me to some of my greatest accomplishments.
