Hurricane Felicia is further weakening, now at 95 MPH, moving west northwest at 13 MPH, while Enrique is a tropical depression at 35 MPH. Oops, Felicia strengthened again with a tighter eye. However, she is still expected to cool off and become either a tropical storm (35%) or tropical depression (30%) by Tuesday when landfall is expected on the Big Island. There is only a 4% chance she will remain a hurricane. I'm off to the Big Island for a rendezvous with Felicia...and to scatter Pearl's ashes on Mauna Kea.
Incidentally, there are various other computer models, and many of them now are predicting that Felicia will hit Maui instead of the Big Island, which puts Oahu at greater jeopardy.

In the West Pacific, Typhoon Morakot at 74 MPH, slammed into Taiwan, killing at least six. This storm will weaken into a tropical storm and affect Zhejiang and/or Fujian Province. Another storm seems to forming in this region.

The Dow Jones Industrials further moved up 114 to 9370, apparently in response to good jobs news. Oil remains relatively steady and gold is down $6/toz to $857.
