 But first, about doings in the world today.

• The ceasefire in the Gaza Strip is in trouble.  The Hamas indicated there would be no hostage trade this week, blaming Israel for not honoring their commitments.  No doubt President Donald Trump threatening to occupy the site forever influenced this development.
• More tariffs coming from Trump.
• 
  The courts are stifling Trump edicts.  But he defies their orders, with plans to appeal eventually to the Supreme Court.  Do we have a Constitutional crisis?  Even NBC thinks so.

• 
  Trump further stated that he is serious about Canada becoming our 51st state.
• The Donald told the Treasury to stop making pennies, for each one almost costs 4 cents to make.  The nickel might be next, for that is costing nearly 15 cents each.
• Have you been affected by this shortage of eggs?

• 
  The Philadelphia Eagles wiped out the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59, with Trump prevailing over  Taylor Swift.
• Kendrick Lamar's halftime show, fierce, but petty, featured the surprise involvement of actor Samuel Jackson and the appearance of Serena Williams.
• Looks like Trump dominated over Swift.  After all, the game was played on Fox.

So on to the topic of the day, I was thumbing through the Sunday paper yesterday and noticed that someone named Rebecca Yarros had the top three spots on the New York Times bestselling book list.  Who is she?

• A 43-year old romantasy author whose family moved frequently, as both her parents were lieutenant colonels.

• 
  Met Jason Yarros at a karaoke bar in 2020 and they got married in 2002.  
• They now live in Colorado with 6 children, a kitten, two chinchillas and English bulldogs.
• Their first child, a daughter, was adopted, and is non verbal on the autism spectrum.

• 
  Rebecca has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, as do her sons.
• Co-founded nonprofit OneOctober in 2019 to improve the lives of children in the foster system.

• 
  Has published 21 novels in 10 years.
• Five Flight and Glory series, the first in 2014 about the military.
• Two in Luv books.
• Three Renegades trilogy.
• Three Legacy series.
• Several stand-alone novels.
• Three in her Empyrean series, and these three are the ones currently 1, 2 and 3 on the New York Times bestseller list.

• As I write this, she has sold more 55 million books globally, 12 million just in the past two years, and 2.7 million of her latest, Onyx Storm, in the first week of publication.
